It is intriguing why friends from districts in Aceh are weary and reluctant to have their congress in Banda Aceh fearing that "prominent" activists/figures will interfere by inserting their own agenda. Is this a kind of resistance to the domination of activists from Banda Aceh? Does this reflect something deeper about ...the relation of activists between Banda Aceh and other districts? .....

The 1st day of SPKP HAM's congress in Lhokseumawe, North Aceh. It has been my growing impression about any congress that participants concern and time are mostly used for technical matters like congress's rules and mechanisms with a risk to downgrade problems urgently needed to be addressed by the organization. Let's just hope for the best out of it.

Imran and Mirwanda were just elected as the chairperson and vice-chairperson of SPKP HAM Aceh for 2010-2013. This congress reflected on the mismanagement happened with the previous administration. They realize that when it comes to money there is no saint. It needs an effective system to avoid the same problem. Be care...ful. reflects on SPKP HAM Aceh' s congress. Some questions raging my mind: How will they see themselves as people' organization different from NGOs? Will the new administration be more skillful in writing proposal and approaching donor agencies than in animating and mobilizing members? How will they deal with economic progr...ams of gov't encouraging their members to forget past HR violations?
